Ms. Sales earned
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in
2004 from the University of California, San
Diego, where she was on the Provost’s Honors
List for her excellent academic record. She
earned a Juris Doctor degree from the
University of San Diego, School of Law in
2006, and a Masters of Laws in Taxation
degree from the University of San Diego,
School of Law in 2007, receiving a USD
Graduate Law Merit Scholarship. Ms. Sales
served as the President of the USD Tax Law
Society for one year and organized over
fourteen event speakers for the society,
receiving a Certificate of Merit from the
University of San Diego, School of Law, in
recognition of her service. Ms. Sales also
served as a Student Attorney in the USD Tax
Law Clinic in 2006, assisting low income
taxpayers in resolving their tax disputes
with the Internal Revenue Service.
Ms. Sales is
admitted to practice before the courts of
California, the United States District Court
for the Southern and Central Districts of
California, and the United States Court of
Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She is
Co-Chair of the Taxation Section of the San
Diego County Bar Association. She is also a
member of the Taxation Section of the State
Bar of Californiaand the San Diego Chapter
of the Western Pension and Benefits
Conference.
Ms. Sales
lectures on employee benefit law topics,
including Qualified Domestic Relations
Orders and the division of retirement
benefits during divorce for the Family Law
Section of the Bar Association of Northern
San Diego County and the San Diego Paralegal
Association.
Ms. Sales
received recognition as a Top Young Attorney
Finalist by the San Diego Daily Transcript
on November 26, 2008, which is judged by an
independent panel of legal experts based on
ethics, legal knowledge, professionalism,
and commitment to furthering the interest of
justice in society. She also received a
Certificate of Recognition from the San
Diego Paralegal Association on March 17,
2009, for her support, commitment, and
contributions to the legal community.
