Ms.
Meter earned a juris doctor degree from
California Western School of Law in 2005
where she received an Award for Academic
Excellence in Business Planning -
Representing Modest Business Enterprises and
was on the Dean’s Honor List. She was a law
clerk for Butterfield Schechter LLP during
her three years of law school. Ms.
Meter
received a bachelor's degree in Spanish from
the University of Pittsburgh in 1999.
Ms. Meter is
admitted to practice before the courts of
California, the United States District Court
for the Southern District of California and
the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms.
Meter is a member of the State Bar of
California and the San Diego County Bar
Association where she is the Chair of the
Public Service Committee for the Young/New
Lawyers Division. Ms. Meter is also on
the Board of the Western Pension & Benefits
Conference, San Diego Chapter.
Ms. Meter
argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of
Appeals on the issue of ERISA preemption
achieving a successful reversal and remand
of the case. See unpublished opinion Ron and
Sons v. Delaware Charter Guarantee and Trust
Company, 2006 U.S. App. LEXIS 731.
